2017 Strata Waterfalls of Gunung Behrang

23.07.2017 - The four adventurers from the Malaysian Outward Bound Youth Association managed to hike up to the waterfalls: (L-R) Ray Lee, Mohd Shahrul, George Ling and Ching Neng Bin. We were lost twice along the trail, however, we managed to find the right trail up. There are several small rivers that flow down from the slopes of Gunung Behrang north of Tanjung Malim. One of them is Sungei Sekiah that has a number of attractive waterfalls and one of them is the Strata Falls.

George Ling's 4x4 drive up along the slopes of Gunung Behrang.

The end of the road as our vehicle could not cross because of the broken log bridge. We parked our vehicle and trek on the dirt road up the hill.

The miniature land-forms caused by rain and erosion along the trail. Looks like the Grand Canyon in USA.

At about a thousand feet above sea lever we could see the Proton City below.

This looks like a tiger paw on the trail.

This is the wild boar cooling pool. Mud baths certainly keep pigs cool on a hot day.

The end of trail and it was here we got lost. So we backtrack to look for a new trail.

When we arrived we saw this big group of people preparing for their water activities.

After a long trek, happiness is having a cool glass of wine. It was an evening drinking session at Chan Yin Wai's residence at Diamond Creek till 1am the next day. Many thanks to Yin Wai for the drinks and we hope to come back again.

The next day morning breakfast at George Ling's Home-stay at Diamond Creek. Never knew that George Ling could prepare very good breakfast. Thank you George Ling. L-R: George Ling, WeiWei, Ching Neng Bin, Catherine Oon and Ray Lee.
